CSO Friends

The Friends of Christchurch Symphony Orchestra are very proud of their long association with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra so naturally we wish for others in the community to join our organisation and share the pleasure of the music.

There are many personal benefits to becoming a member of the Friends:

• The opportunity to meet many of the guest artists and members of the orchestra in more intimate surroundings than the concert platform

• Invitations to special interval functions

• Having a closer relationship with the players and knowing you make a very real contribution to the success of the CSO, an integral part of the cultural life of Christchurch.

The Friends have undertaken to support the guest artists who perform with the orchestra for the Lamb & Hayward Masterworks series for the 2012 season. As you can imagine this is quite a commitment but one which we are proud to provide. Our members often have the privilege of meeting these international artists and hearing about their personal and professional lives in an informal setting. The committee has also planned functions at some of Christchurch’s exclusive venues which add special interest to the event.

We are proud to renew our sponsorship for the second season for Principal Percussion Brett Painter and a 1st violin player. It is most satisfying to continue to build a strong relationship with these players and also a closer bond with the orchestra overall.

By joining the Friends of CSO your subscription, and those of many others, will make a very real difference to the financial security of the orchestra. All monies are donated to the CSO Trust with only expenses recovered from the income.
