The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra is the South Island’s leading orchestra, providing a balanced, eclectic and accessible concert season that spans the full range of orchestra repertoire. Over the past fifty years, the orchestra has grown to establish itself as a cultural asset to Christchurch and the wider communities of the South Island of New Zealand. A city orchestra with 26 salaried musicians, working approximately 26 weeks per year, the CSO serves the Canterbury community with high quality musical performances, an extensive Community Engagement programme and accompaniment services for the Royal NZ Ballet, NZ Opera, the Christchurch City Choir and the National Concerto Competition. Christchurch is a multi-cultural community bursting with artistic talent, at the heart of which are our CSO players who live and work within our city. 
 

 

 

 

 

  • Orchestra Manager +

    The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra is currently seeking to appoint an Orchestra Manager.

    This full time position will lead the team that is foucsed on realising the CSO's artistic vision through a range of public and private concerts, events and activities.

    As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will also contribute to the strategic planning process, ensuring the CSO continues to be a relevant and dynamic arts organisation.
