Before coming to the CSO, Pablo had a bass trombone position at the National Symphony of Colombia. Then he moved to The Netherlands, where he studied bass trombone with the legendary Ben van Dijk, became a freelancer for Rotterdam Philharmonic, several other big orchestras, and held a fix position with "De Volharding Orkest" which was an experimental and modern music ensemble. Many pieces were written and arranged for this ensemble by composers like John Adams, Johan de Meij, Louis Andriessen. After a while, he won a position at Aalborg symphony in Denmark, but decided to come back to the Netherlands to finish his studies.
Once he finished his studies in the Netherlands, he came back to Colombia where he played at his local orchestra, Caldas Symphony, and taught at the university. In 2013, he decided to move to New Zealand with his wife, a Kiwi, and started building up a career here as a freelancer player, arranger and composer for APO, brass teacher and brass band conductor. Since 2014, he has joined and been a founding member of several ensembles, including the new "Aucktet" which is a trombone octet, made up of the finest trombone players in Auckland city, and ACE brass, which is a brass quartet, where he plays the tuba and percussion.
