Yuri Lomeiko

Yuri Lomeiko was born and educated in Russia. He is a graduate of the Novosibirsk State Conservatoire, which is named after M.Glinka. 

Yuri worked in the Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra for 14 years and also with the Moscow “Bolshoi “Symphony Orchestra (BSO). He was the principal double-bass of the Slavonic Symphony Orchestra in Moscow. 

He worked with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra (BASSO) in Ankara, Turkey, before moving to New Zealand. 

In 1996 he began to work in the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. He was also a tutor of Double Bass at the University of Canterbury and a casual player in Auckland (APO) and Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO).
